There have been plenty of 80-degree temperatures in the forecast, but metro Atlanta will head back into the 90s soon.

Temperatures were 88 degrees in Atlanta, 79 degrees in Blairsville and 89 degrees in Griffin just before 2:20 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

“If you like today, you’ll really like tomorrow,” meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “Highs will be in the mid 80s after a comfortable start.”

Metro Atlanta can expect highs to be 86 degrees Wednesday and Thursday and record high temperatures this weekend.

“We have drier weather moving in over the next few days,” Monahan said.

Temperatures will start in the low 60s in metro Atlanta and increase throughout the day Wednesday. Expect mostly sunny skies and low humidity.

Sunshine remains Thursday.

“Then we start to turn the heat up,” Monahan said.

Temperatures will push into the low 90s Friday, and highs could reach 93 degrees Saturday and 94 degrees Sunday.

“For the weekend, we’ve got the warmest weather of the season moving in,” Monahan said.
