Metro Atlanta will likely get the hottest weather of the season so far Saturday.
“If you have outdoor plans,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said, “lots of breaks, lots of water.”
The temperature was 93 degrees in Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. Friday, according to Channel 2 Action News, and it was expected to be at 87 at 9 p.m.
“I know a lot of you are already saying, ‘Alright, it is plenty hot,’” Monahan said. “But it is about to get hotter.”
Saturday’s forecast calls for a high of 96 degrees and humidity. The heat index will make temperatures feel like its 100 degrees.
Humidity isn’t the only moisture in the forecast. There is a 30 percent chance of scattered storms through Sunday.
Long-lasting downpours, however, aren’t likely this weekend.
