Metro Atlanta residents might get isolated showers Thursday evening, but the heat isn’t going anywhere.

Temperatures reached a high of 94 degrees by rush hour and the chance of widespread rain is slim.

“We’re going to get cooled off a little bit from storms heading in,” Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Temperatures were 87 degrees in Atlanta, 72 degrees in Blairsville and 82 degrees in Griffin at 10 p.m.

While temperatures are expected to stay in the 90s the rest of the week, the chance of rain increases to 40 percent Friday and 60 percent Saturday.
