A clear, blustery, sunny day Wednesday will lead to freezing temperatures overnight before heating up for a warm weekend, forecasters said.

“We’re dealing with temperatures taking a time-off from spring-like weather,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley said.

The Mercury hovered in the low 40s Wednesday morning and will reach mid-50s, Chandley said. Tonight, temperatures will dip into the 30s.

“We’ve got a huge area of high pressure … sitting off to our west,” Chandley said. “That’s going to bring colder air (and) dryer air. We’re going to see a blustery afternoon.”

Expect wind blowing up to 15 to 25 mph with a wind advisory creating the chance of wind gusts of up to 35 mph, he said.

But temperatures will climb, reaching the upper 60s on Friday and low 70s for Saturday and Sunday, he said.
