It’s Saturday, which means college football galore. And fans of Georgia and Georgia Tech won’t have to go far to see their faves in action.
The fans should have relatively good football weather in Athens, where the Bulldogs host Louisiana-Lafayette at noon. Ditto in Atlanta, where the Yellow Jackets host Virginia at 12:30 p.m. Rain? Again, none in sight.
The temperature should be about 57 degrees when those games kick off, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
However, temps should drop quickly after the games are over.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for North Georgia and parts of central Georgia for Saturday night. The warning is from 9 a.m. until Sunday at 10 a.m. People are advised to protect tender vegetation and animals.
Additional freezes are likely Sunday and Monday nights, with temperatures dipping into the 20s in some areas, according to the alert.
About 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the temperature was 56 in Atlanta, 59 in Griffin, and 44 in Blairsville.
