Just get through Wednesday night and Thursday morning, metro Atlanta.

You might be able to get away with short sleeves — yes, you read that correctly — Thursday afternoon.

After morning lows in the 50s, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 82 degrees Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“It’s the dry air that allows for big temperature swings, cooling off at night, warming up in the afternoon,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Temperatures were 68 degrees in Atlanta, 69 in Blairsville and 60 in Griffin just after 8:45 p.m.

Highs are expected to remain in the 80s Friday and drop to the 70s this weekend.

The next possibility of rain is Saturday, when there’s a 20 percent chance of precipitation.
