The breezy and cool start to Sunday marked the coldest morning of the season so far.
While it will be sunny, temperatures are expected to stay below the average 60 degree weather, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
“We should be in the low 60s but instead temperatures are going to top out in the 50s in most areas,” Monahan said. “There will be a pretty strong northwest wind, but it will not be quite as gusty as it was back on Saturday afternoon.”
And Monday morning is expected to be colder still, with a low of 32 degrees.
Temperatures just after 5 p.m. were 53 degrees in Atlanta, 46 degrees in Blairsville and 54 degrees in Griffin.
Temps are expected to rise throughout the week, though, and Monday’s high of 60 is the lowest high through Thanksgiving Thursday, according to the Channel 2 five-day forecast.
Rain is not likely this week, but a 30 percent chance on Wednesday could bring some much-needed sprinkles, especially north of metro Atlanta, Monahan said.
