Metro Atlanta is off to a chilly start Friday.
Temperatures were 39 degrees in Atlanta, 26 in Blairsville and 30 in Griffin.
In Atlanta, that was about 3 degrees lower than temperatures at the same time Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
“We’ll warm it up in the afternoon,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Atlanta is expected to reach a high of 59 degrees.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service is still working to survey damage from Wednesday’s four tornadoes in metro Atlanta and other parts of North Georgia, meteorologist David Nadler said.
The agency confirmed Thursday that tornadoes touched down in Cobb County as well as Buckhead, Alpharetta and Commerce.
The EF1 tornado in Cobb County was 0.75 miles long and 100 yards wide with maximum winds of 100 mph. It touched down along Delta Court and crossed Six Flags Parkway, Mableton Parkway and Discovery Boulevard. The twister stayed within Cobb.
The Buckhead tornado was confirmed as an EF1, but details have not been released.
An EF0 tornado with 80 mph winds touched down in Alpharetta near Windward Parkway and the Big Creek area.
The Commerce tornado was an EF1 with 90 mph winds. It was 100 yards wide with a path of 2.8 miles.
