Spring is 12 days away, but it feels like spring sprung early.

And the mostly sunny skies and warm weather gracing Atlanta Monday will continue Tuesday.

“As we look ahead, we’re going to be seeing temperatures that go up to the 70s,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Winds out of the south and southeast brought warmth and moisture Monday but no rain in a trend that will continue the next few days and bring humid conditions Tuesday.

Highs will linger in the low 70s, then reach 75 degrees Thursday when a slight chance of rain takes effect.

That chance will carry over into Friday and increase over the weekend when showers and thunderstorms are possible, Minton said.

Temperatures were 64 degrees in Atlanta, 58 degrees in Blairsville and 65 degrees in Griffin just before 2 p.m.

They should reach the upper 60s by 4 p.m. and drop a bit near the mid-60s later Monday night.
