Metro Atlantans can expect another round of rain Monday night.

Scattered showers and storms are expected to cover northern and eastern parts of metro Atlanta about 9 p.m. with temperatures dipping into the mid-60s, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The storms aren’t expected to match those that led to outages, downed trees and home and car damage.

There were 60 active outages in metro Atlanta on Monday evening, according to Georgia Power, leaving more than 312 people without electricity. This is down from the 950 customers affected by 76 active outages in metro Atlanta on Monday afternoon.

One tree lifted concrete from a home’s driveway when it was uprooted on Moores Mill Road in Buckhead.

Another knocked down power lines and blocked Moores Mill Road, causing damage from Peachtree Battle to Moores Mill Road. A third tree hit three homes, two of which were occupied, on Muse Street in southwest Atlanta.

Activity could linger in and around Atlanta through midnight, even as showers in north Georgia calm about 11 p.m.

“I’ve got my eye on a line of storms with a few embedded thunderstorms coming in from Alabama and some of this is going to make it into Georgia and even metro Atlanta,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Rain will not, however, chill temperatures.

Temperatures were 82 degrees in Atlanta, 76 degrees in Blairsville and 81 degrees in Griffin just before 5:30 p.m.

The pollen count was 179 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air Monday. That's well below the current season high of 4,107 and last year's season high of 6,152.
