Cloudy skies will be clearing Sunday and Monday is expected to be sunny and seasonably warm, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.

“Clouds will clear out as a weak cold front comes through and brings in some drier air,” Nitz said. Expect a morning low of 33 degrees and a high temperature of about 53.

“Right about the average for this time of year,” Nitz said. A mile cold front could bring showers or even thunderstorms back into metro Atlanta late Wednesday into Thursday, Nitz said. Temperatures will be much warmer ahead of that front, Nitz said. He said the highs could reach to around 63 degrees by midweek

The good weather will also mean a good time for roadwork.

Beginning Monday, the Georgia Department of Transportation plans to shut down Deering Road — a popular cut-through commuters use to get from I-75 and Northside Drive to Peachtree Road — for an extended period to work on an adjacent parking lot and bridge. It’ll be open to only local traffic.
