Atlanta set a record high Tuesday, hitting 82 degrees shortly after 4 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.
The previous record high, set in 1974, is 81 degrees.
The metro area not only set a record Tuesday but set a record for the fourth day in a row.
Temps were 79 degrees in Atlanta, 76 in Blairsville and 79 in Griffin just before 6:30 p.m.
Highs are expected to drop to 80 degrees Wednesday, 79 Thursday and 69 Friday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.
“There is a cold front that’s going to be coming along this way going into Thursday, and that will assure, in a very slight chance, an isolated sprinkle in some spots,” Minton said.
There is a 10 percent chance of rain Thursday.
In the meantime, dry and sunny conditions will remain.
