A 12,000-square-foot farmers market is slated to open in Avondale Estates early next year.

Located at 3409 Covington Hwy., Common Roots Farmers Market will offer fresh produce; grab-and-go meals including sandwiches and salads; meats and wild game; seafood; breads and snacks; coffee, beer, wine and kombucha; and locally-made products from businesses including 3Bros Cookies, Georgia Sourdough, Lanes BBQ, Piedmont Provisions and Pure Bliss Organics.

Made in-house, grab-and-go meals will include five sandwiches including its signature Muffaletta, with a rotating sandwich featured daily.

Produce will be sourced globally, with a focus on locally-grown produce. Common Roots will partner with five area farms at any given time, with more local produce available from late spring to early fall. The market will also stock Georgia-raised chicken, beef and pork and wild-caught Georgia shrimp.

The market is founded by Brock Nix, a fifth-generation produce operator and Brookhaven resident.

Once open, Common Roots Market’s hours will be 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays.
