Val Kolton, the CEO and founder of V-Moda headphones told me his company would not produce wireless over-the-ear headphones until they got them right. This includes outstanding quality and craftsmanship to meet V-Moda’s high standards.
After testing the company’s new Crossfade Wireless Over-Ear hybrid headphones recently, I know Kolton made the right decision.
They look great, sound great and feel great.
In a press release announcement, V-Moda stated, “The Crossfade Wireless went through years of precise engineering to design and tune wireless electronics while keeping the iconic V-MODA materials and shapes.” And knowing Kolton as well as I do, I can say with 100 percent confidence that this statement is true.
If you’ve seen earlier models of the company’s headphones (M100), you would think there’s nothing new, except the cord is eliminated.
The sound is crystal clear coming from the 50 mm drivers, built into memory foam ear cushions connected with a SteelFlex headband, which forms to your head. This combination lets them sit on your ears with so much comfort you would think you have pillows on your ears.
Memory foam ear cushions precisely isolate noise and provide supple ergonomic comfort for extended listening sessions. The cushions and SteelFlex headband naturally form to your head and ears to create the perfect natural noise isolation, optimal bass and an immersive 3D soundstage.
With Bluetooth connection you get 33 feet of range and the ability to pair the headphones with two devices simultaneously. The wireless mode gives you up to 12 hours of sound before you have to recharge the built-in lithium-ion battery.
If you want the headphones wired, just plug in the included reinforced one-button SpeakEasy microphone and mic 3.5 mm cable. The headphones have been produced to work with built-in Bluetooth music players on smartwatches.

Bracketron’s TwistX
Bracketron’s new Xventure TwistX 360 accessory line has seven universal 360-degree rotating mounts for capturing unique angles with your GoPro or other action adventure cameras.
The Hand Mount support ($24.99) is a fingerless glove with a camera mount attached to an adjustable Velcro strap. The mount puts the camera right on top of your hand, in a perfect location to angle the camera to wherever you are headed.
Cameras with a standard 1/4-inch camera thread can be used with the mount; consider the weight of the camera and your ability to balance it prior to use.
Being able to adjust the strap gives you not only the right comfort but also the ability to secure the camera so it won’t fall off during activities.
The key advantage of the mount is that it keeps your hand free for the activity you’re doing, whether that’s climbing, skydiving or scuba diving, while still capturing every moment.
The Xventure TwistX 360 Clip Mount Support ($19.99) has many of the same features as the hand mount, except it connects to a backpack or belt.
They both give your camera a 360-degree rotation for any shooting angle. Your camera attaches to the mount with the 1/4-inch thread.
The mount attaches and detaches in seconds and while it’s in use it captures every frame of your action-packed activity.
