Registration for the 2017 AJC Peachtree Road Race lottery will open Wednesday, March 15, according to event organizer, the Atlanta Track Club.

The eight-day lottery will run until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, on AJC.com/peachtree.

“Atlanta Track Club annually looks forward to the world’s largest running celebration,” said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club’s executive director.

The annual Fourth of July 10K trek through Buckhead and midtown will be the 48th in the event’s history. Entrants will be randomly selected after the lottery closes. All lottery entrants will receive an email by Saturday, March 25, informing them whether or not they were selected to participate.

Club members -- current as of Feb. 1 -- receive a guaranteed entry opportunity into the AJC Peachtree Road Race. The early registration for club members runs from Wednesday, March 1, to Tuesday, March 14.

There is no charge to enter the lottery. Entry into the 10K event is $35 for club members and $38 for the public, plus applicable online processing fees.

Searchable results of the selection process will also be posted on peachtreeroadrace.org and AJC.com/peachtree on March 25.
