Jets coach Todd Bowles talked to the Atlanta media on Wednesday. Here’s what he had to say about the Falcons:

On his running backs. "They are actually all very similar. They all can run, catch and block at the same time. (Matt) Forte has great vision. Bilal (Powell) is explosive inside and out and Elijah (McGuire) he's just very smooth and he just kind of glides so to speak and he's still uncovering all of his talents. Between the three of them we try to get it done and we're working at it."

On if he uses a hot hand approach. "Sometimes I do. If somebody has a hot hand, you ride them a little bit longer than you would if you are just subbing another guy in and out."

On the Jets safeties. "They grow each week. For them, it's more or less their work ethic and work habits and the way they study. How they go about preparing to play more…they are very humble guys who love to play. They play hard and they love to study."

On the Falcons offense. "Lot of talent. Very explosive. Two great running backs. A slew of receivers. The tight end is good. They have a great run scheme and obviously the quarterback is outstanding. In all, they've hit a few snags at the end, but in all, they were in every ball game. You see the same team that went to the Super Bowl. Maybe they have not made as many plays at the time, but they are explosive."

On the Falcons defense. "Very big inside. Run stuffers. Good edge rushers, obviously, leading with Beasley. Very fast linebackers, skill corners and safeties that hit like linebackers."

On how the last three teams rushed for more than 100 yards against the Falcons. "I can't speak (to) that. We've got our own problems to deal with. I'm sure Dan (Quinn) will have those guys ready on Sunday."

On you college (Temple) teammate Keith Armstrong's special teams. "Keith has always been touch. He's been there a long time. He's been in the league for a reason. We have our worked cut out for us. We know that we have to be prepared for everything."

On Josh McCown's quarterback play. "Josh is a veteran. He's great for our locker room. He's a team guy. He's team-first, but he's very competitive. Smart football player. I think injuries have held him back over the years, but he's finally healthy. He's playing mistake-free football for the most part. I think there are one or two balls that he'd like to have back, but we're very happen with him from a leadership standpoint, an accuracy standpoint and just a team comraderie standpoint. He's been great for the younger guys in the locker room."

On how is Jimmie Johnson (Augusta T.W. Josey High) doing coaching the tight ends for the Jets: "Jimmie has his work cut out for him. Jimmie does a heck of a job for us. He's one of the hardest (working) and loudest guys on the field every day. He's doing outstanding."
