The Atlanta Police department is investigating rape allegations against a Tennessee Titans football player.

An incident report from APD outlines the woman’s allegations against Sammie Hill, 28, following a consensual encounter in Atlanta last week. No charges have been filed against Hill.

The woman told Atlanta Police that she met the NFL nose tackle while working at Club Onyx on Saturday in what began as a consensual relationship. The two later had consensual sex at the Embassy Suites near Lenox Square that night and fell asleep, according to the police report. Later that night, the incident report says the 37-year-old woman awoke to Hill raping her.

Hill hired prominent Atlanta criminal defense lawyer Ed Garland, who denied the allegations. “There was no impropriety; there was no roughness. There was nothing he did wrong,” Garland told Channel 2 Action News.

The woman said “she told the guy to stop several times as she attempted to break free of his hold,” according to the report. “Once the sex ended, (the woman) stated to the guy, ‘What you did was wrong.’ He responded stating he was sorry. The two then put on their clothing an proceeded to leave the hotel room.”

Outside, Hill gave the woman $300 and then got in his vehicle and drove away, the report said.

“She asked for some money because she needed some. (Hill) gave her some money,” said Garland.

APD’s investigation is ongoing, Officer John Chafee told The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The woman told police she didn’t know Hill was a professional football player. The 6-foot-4-inch, 328-pound Hill signed a three-year contract for $11.4 million with the Titans in 2013. The former Detroit Lion played his college ball at Stillman College in Alabama.

“Multiple text messages have been exchanged between her and the guy regarding this incident,” the APD report said. “She said the guy had been apologetic within his text messages.”
