Mike Collins is the favorite to win the U.S. Senate Republican runoff race, according to recent polls.

But his victory is not a sure thing. Two polls show him above the 50% mark. Another has the congressman in a closer race against former football coach Derek Dooley.

The winner of the runoff will face incumbent Democrat Jon Ossoff, who ran unopposed and has been amassing a sizable campaign war chest.

In the May primary, which featured five Republicans, Collins won about 41% of the vote. Dooley came in second with 30%. Here are the latest polls.

What about November?

Surveys taken before the primary election asking voters about hypothetical matchups between Ossoff and Collins and Ossoff and Dooley showed the Democrat with a lead.

There was one poll with a hypothetical Dooley-Ossoff election.

Expert political forecasters think the race in November will be tight, but two give Ossoff an edge.
