- Hard Rock Cafe's new line of mason jar cocktails includes the refreshing Back Porch Tea. It's a mixture of Bacardi Superior rum, Bombay Sapphire gin, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, iced tea, made-from-scratch lemonade, muddled basil and mint with a hint of Monin cucumber. The jars are also available to purchase at Hard Rock's Rock Shop.
- Midtown Atlanta's STK serves its banana cream pie in a classic jar. With its house-made Nilla wafer, vanilla custard and butterscotch, the pie is a sweet Southern treat served in an ultramodern steakhouse.
- In Marietta, there must be a local ordinance to serve a dish in a mason jar. At least, that's the case for Sugarplum Visions in Marietta Square. The bakery obliges with its "Put A Fork In It! Desserts," which features three layers of moist, home-style cake and rich butter cream. Favorite dishes include chocolate cake with caramel, yellow cake with Belgian chocolate and chocolate cake with mint.
- Wahoo! Grill in Decatur gets into the mason jar business with its popular dessert, the Butterscotch Pot de Crème. This lip-smacking Southern dish is crafted with butterscotch custard, hazelnut whipped cream, Maldon sea salt and caramel sauce. As a bonus, it's gluten-free.
- Serpas True Food in Old Fourth Ward prepares two treasured dishes served in mason jars. The first is Serptiz, chef Scott Serpas' gourmet version of a Cheez-It (and even more addictive than the boxed version). The second is pickled shrimp, indicative of Serpas' seasonal fare with a New Orleans twist. It's a must-taste.
- The list wouldn't be complete without Pitty Pat's Porch. The city's longest continually operating restaurant (more than 47 years) serves each of its iconic Southern cocktails in a mason jar. Pair your drinks with an order of black-eyed pea cakes or fried green tomatoes. Then enjoy these good libations in a rocking chair. It's like cocktail hour from a simpler, gentler time. Oh, and the Peach mojito will kick-start your Southern drawl.
