Update: Police are still investigating a pedestrian fatality Wednesday night at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Brownlee Road.
The driver of a Nissan Maxima was heading westbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive when he hit the pedestrian in the roadway, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said on Thursday. The driver, Shanarda Jones was coming from church.
The investigation continues as police seek relatives of the victim.
Earlier report: A man has died after being struck by a vehicle near Martin Luther King Jr Drive at Brownlee Road around 10:30 p.m., Atlanta police said late Wednesday.
The vehicle that struck him was still on the scene as police were investigating the incident around 11:30 p.m. APD spokesman Officer Ralph Woolfolk said.
