Police in LaGrange are looking for the person who shot and killed an 18-year-old in broad daylight two days before Christmas.

Investigators said a person drove up in a white sedan and shot at the teen, identified as Niko Hurston of LaGrange, just before 3 p.m. Sunday, according to a statement from LaGrange police.

He was shot in the chest near the intersection of Troup and Jenkins streets, and was pronounced dead at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center, police said. He was walking with two other people when he was shot, according to the statement.

Police released a surveillance picture of the car the shooter may have driven — believed to be a Honda Accord.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact police or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
