A 13-year-old will be charged as an adult in the shooting death Wednesday of his 9-year-old brother in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Fox43 reported.

Police responded to a residence on Cleveland Avenue about 7:15 a.m. for a death investigation involving the 9-year-old, Fox43 reported, citing a police news release.

The child was taken to Waynesboro Hospital, where he died, according to the TV station.

State police said the 13-year-old found a 9 mm handgun and fatally shot the child, according to Fox43.

The 13-year-old’s charges include criminal homicide and aggravated assault, the TV station reported.
