If you think you have what it takes to be a member of law enforcement, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office wants to hear from you.

The Sheriff’s Office has immediate openings for deputies and detention officers, Lt. Jay Baker said. The agency has appointed a veteran deputy, Cpl. Darin Downey, to work as a full-time recruiter to help find qualified applicants, Baker said.

Downey will be visiting police academies, colleges and universities across the southeast, and attending job fairs. Anyone interested in working for the Sheriff’s Office should contact Downey at 678-493-4126 or by email to pddowney@cherokeega.com.

Applicants must be at least 20 years old.
