Two teens arrested in Clayton murder investigation

Two teenagers face murder charges in connection to a killing at a Norman Drive apartment complex Monday night, Clayton County police announced Thursday, but authorities continue to search for a stolen vehicle believed to have been used as a getaway car.

Witness interviews and other investigative efforts led authorities to arrest two teenage boys – a 15-year-old from Atlanta and a 16-year-old from College Park. Both face charges of murder and aggravated assault, police spokesperson Sgt. K.T. Hughes said.

Another person has been in police custody since Tuesday, but officials Thursday said they did not plan to release further information on them during their active investigation into Monday’s fatal shooting of Jeremy Milbry.

Authorities are still on the lookout for a stolen gray Acura RDX, a sport utility vehicle, with Georgia tag BYL 2877, which may have been used as a getaway car during Monday’s incident.

Milbry was shot in the back after two groups of people got into an argument that escalated to a fight at the Stone Brook Apartments on Norman Drive just south of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Officers got the call about the shots fired in the incident around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Milbry was pronounced dead at Southern Regional Medical Center.

Anyone with information on the individual or any other details about the incident is asked to call 404-577-TIPS or Clayton County Police at 770-477-3648.
