Some avid Twitter users reported issues searching on Twitter and posting to their profiles Friday afternoon.
The outages were reported in various areas in America on the West and East Coast, Mexico, United Kingdom, Argentina and Japan, according to service outage reporting site Downdetector.com. There were more than 11,000 users reporting issues accessing the social media site as of about 4:45 p.m.
Around 4:45 p.m. Friday, Twitter’s support account tweeted a message about the issues with users posting new tweets.
“You might be experiencing trouble sending new Tweets, but we’re working on fixing this now. Sorry for the interruption and we’ll let you know when things are back to normal.”
User Joel1970, posted on the DownDetector site: "Can't Tweet in Illinois. What's going on with Twitter?"
Another user in Georgia , William Cha, also reported site issues around 5 p.m. Friday.
Though several folks were still reporting issues, Twitter’s Support updated its thread around 5:05 p.m., stating that the issue “has been fixed.”
