Traffic reopened on northbound I-75 in Cherokee County about 11:30 a.m. Thursday after an earlier collision between a car and a tanker truck, authorities said.

The accident occurred just south of Ga. 92, Cherokee sheriff’s Lt. Jay Baker said. A southbound vehicle crossed the median and hit the truck, rupturing the truck’s fuel tank, he said.

Fuel had spilled onto the roadway and required cleanup, according to Georgia Department of Transportation officials.

There was no immediate word on injuries.
