Crews are expected to complete repairs by Wednesday to a large section of a collapsed Roswell street, police said.

A distracted teen driver hit a fire hydrant late Monday night along Roxburgh Drive, causing a gushing underground leak that led to the road’s collapse, police said.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the water main break did not affect drinking water in the area.

In a Tuesday afternoon post that appeared on the Roswell Police Department's Facebook page, officials said crews were "working extremely hard … to repair a sinkhole on Roxburgh Drive in the Country Club of Roswell," which is off Old Alabama Road.
