Roswell Road is open in Sandy Springs after repairs to a water main break were completed, the Georgia Department of Transportation said Friday.
On Wednesday, a water main broke and a sinkhole opened on Roswell Road between Northridge Parkway and Hightower Trail.
Water was shut off near the intersection at Northridge Road and all lanes of Roswell Road from Northridge Road to Hightower, including Northridge Parkway, were closed.
Water service was restored about 5 a.m. Thursday, according to Atlanta Watershed Management.
Nearly two hours later, one northbound and one southbound lane of Roswell Road opened, according to the GDOT.
A second northbound lane opened at 2 p.m. to accommodate afternoon traffic, the agency said in a statement.
Work continued and crews were able to open all lanes by about 5 a.m. Friday.
