A 27-year-old man was killed Saturday morning when he was struck by a car on I-75 southbound in Catoosa County, the Georgia State Patrol said.
The man was walking on the shoulder of the freeway when the car, a Mazda, veered off the road and hit him, GSP Sgt. Chris Harris said. The car then hit a guard rail, overturned, and came to rest in an upright position.
The pedestrian’s identity was not released, pending notification of next of kin, Harris said. The two people in the car were treated and released at a local hospital.
Freeway traffic in the area was delayed for about two hours after the crash.
