12:58 p.m.: One of the crash victims has been taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, according to Channel 2. That victim's condition was not known.

12:55 p.m.: The bus was headed to a casino in North Carolina, Channel 2 reported, citing the husband of someone on the bus.

12:20 p.m.: Piedmont Hospital Mountainside in Jasper is taking 10 of the crash victims, according to Channel 2 Action News. Their conditions are not known.

12:20 p.m.: The charter bus ran into the side of the tractor-trailer, Gilmer County fire spokesman Tony Pritchett said. Ga. Highway 515 is shut down at Whitestone Road.

12:04 p.m.: "All we know at this time is the wreck involves a tractor-trailer and a charter passenger bus," the Georgia State Patrol said in an email. "There is one confirmed fatality. SR515 is shut down at this time at Whitestone Rd. This crash is still under investigation."

Update [11:58 a.m.]: Gilmer County fire Chief Pritchett said the situation is very fluid right now and he does not have a lot of details. He is not disclosing the name of the bus at this time. There are 35 to 40 injuries. Ga. 515 is closed indefinitely. There are 10 ambulances and multiple fire vehicles. The injured are being taken to multiple hospitals. The tour bus ran into the side of the tractor-trailer.

ORIGINAL STORY: One person was killed and 35 others were injured Thursday when a tour bus and a truck crashed on Ga. 515 at Whitestone Road in Gilmer County, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Numerous medical crews have been called to the scene.

Southbound lanes are blocked, the Gilmer sheriff’s office wrote in a Facebook post.
