Several lanes of I-20 westbound in Douglas County were shut down Thursday afternoon after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles.

The trailer veered off the interstate and into the woods at Bright Star Road, according to Channel 2 Action News.

A helicopter landed on the interstate to take the injured driver to Grady Memorial Hospital, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Traffic delays were reported as far back as Highway 92 and lingered into the evening.

Jason Durden with Channel 2 Action News urged motorists to take Highway 78 to Post Road to get back on I-20.
