Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock is open again after being shutdown since 7:49 a.m. Friday.

The road was shut down about 7:49 a.m. Friday, after a construction crew hit guide wires at Bells Ferry Road and Ga. 92. That took down all the power lines, cable lines and phone lines at the intersection, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Just after 3:10 p.m., Cherokee sheriff’s Lt. Jay Baker said utility crews estimated repairs would be completed by 5:30 p.m.

“Bells Ferry Road will remain closed until they are done,” he said.

The sheriff’s office urged motorists to take Ga. 92 to Bascomb Road, then Carmel Road back to Bells Ferry Road. Drivers were also encouraged to take northbound I-575 to Towne Lake Parkway, then exit to get back to Bells Ferry Road.
