The predictions were right.

Many scoffed at the idea of paying $8 for a single double-stuffed, red Oreo embossed with streetwear brand name Supreme. Now those eyes are sure to roll after the predictions of exorbitant resale prices have become reality — at least on eBay.

As of Friday evening, nearly 100 people were bidding on a 3-pack of the Supreme-branded Oreos. The going eBay bid: $20,700. There were an additional 500 people watching the bidding for the cookies. Bidding, according to the site, ends about 9 p.m. ET Tuesday. The selling verbiage on eBay simply says "rare" and made in New Jersey. Other bids for the cookies topped out for between $100 and $200, but those steals were as much as gone by Friday afternoon.

Earlier this week, Supreme, an international brand known for its shoes, outerwear and accessories, teased that it would be releasing a special Oreo cookie to align with its Spring/Summer line release coming in March. The company has not yet named a price per cookie, but rumors are that the cookie sandwiches would go for about $8 apiece. For comparison, a pack of about 30 double-stuffed Oreos would cost less than $3.

The folks behind Oreos have also come out teasing the cookie but have not mentioned the price of the cookie.

Folks were astonished on Twitter by the pricing of the “rare” cookies.
