Q: Despite all the news about the closure of the South Terminal security checkpoint for renovation and the long lines at the other checkpoints, I haven’t seen anything about the TSA Precheck lines and whether they are still open at the South Terminal. So, for those of us with a flight this week who have TSA Precheck credentials, where do we go, and how long are those lines on average?
—Skotti Frese, Cumming
A: All four lanes at the TSA South Security Checkpoint at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport are closed for construction and equipment calibration.
TSA has added staff and TSA Precheck lanes at the airport’s main checkpoint, spokesman Mark Howell told Q&A on the News in an email. The entrance to the TSA Precheck lanes at the main checkpoint is near Delta ticketing.
“While wait times can vary throughout the day based on volume, 98 percent of TSA Precheck passengers at Atlanta wait in line less than 5 minutes,” he wrote. “During high volume hours in the morning, the wait can be higher.”
TSA recommends arriving at Hartsfield-Jackson 2 hours before departure for domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights.
Q: A recent Q&A on the News stated the academic achievements of three left-wing entertainers. In the interest of fairness and balance, please provide the same for right-wing talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck.
—David Horgan, Kennesaw
A: Limbaugh dropped out of Southeast Missouri State in 1971.
Hannity dropped out of both New York University and Adelphi University, according to Encyclopedia Britannica.
Beck didn’t attend college after graduating from high school in Bellingham, Wash., in 1982.
