Q: There has been recent controversy between Donald Trump and John Lewis over the makeup of Georgia’s 5th District. What universities and cultural icons, such as the botanical gardens, Atlanta airport and Fortune 500 corporation headquarters are located in this district?

A: The 5th Congressional District comprises parts of Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton counties, including most of Atlanta, and the cities of Brookhaven, College Park, Decatur, East Point, Forest Park, Hapeville, Lake City and Morrow, according to Rep. John Lewis' House website.

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and universities and colleges such as Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Emory, Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman, Agnes Scott, Clark Atlanta, Morris Brown, Clayton State and Atlanta Metropolitan State.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden, Centennial Olympic Park, Underground Atlanta, the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola and the Atlanta Falcons’ new Mercedes-Benz Stadium are in the district as well.

Fortune 500 companies with headquarters inside the district include the Coca-Cola Co., Delta Air Lines, Southern Co. and SunTrust Bank.

Q: Does Michelle Obama get a paid staff after she leaves the White House?

A: The former first lady plans to hire a small staff, including Melissa Winter, her deputy chief of staff, and use office space in Washington D.C., The Washington Post reported last month.

“The family will also need income, to support themselves as well as the post-White House staffs they are building,” the article stated.
