Q: We were reading the review of “The Light in the Piazza.” It said it was done after a movie. I could have sworn I read a book by that name. Is there a book with the same plot?

—Julie Croft, Decatur

A: "The Light in the Piazza" is a 1960 novella written by American author Elizabeth Spencer.

The book was the basis for both the 1962 movie – “Light in the Piazza” — starring Olivia de Havilland, Yvette Mimieux and George Hamilton, and the musical – “The Light in the Piazza” – which was developed in 2003-04 and debuted on Broadway in 2005.

It won six Tony Awards, including for Best Original Score and Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical (Victoria Clark, who played Margaret Johnson).

—John Titus, Peachtree Corners

A: WXIA issued a release earlier this month that confirmed Hullinger and Wood will co-anchor the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.

“I am grateful and excited to be part of the 11Alive team. I love connecting with our viewers and being part of the community. This is my home,” Hullinger said in a release reported by the AJC.

He has worked in the Atlanta market for more than 30 years, first with WAGA-TV and also as the play-by-play announcer for the Falcons. Hullinger also has worked for News 95.5 and AM 750 WSB.
