Q: Does anyone actually win the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes? We certainly hear a lot about entering it on TV commercials, but never about anyone winning.

—Chuck Rockwell, Conyers

A: Publishers Clearing House awards prizes worth between $3 million and $13 million every year.

Michael Shields, of Southgate, Mich., won $1 million from the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol in June, the Detroit News reported, and Diane Jehanian, of West Chester, Pa., won $1 million last month, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

“I say have belief. It is real,” Shields told the Detroit News.

The number of prizes varies per year, Publishers Clearing House states on its website, and there several ways to win.

Daily prizes range from $1 gift cards to $2,500 in cash, and twice a year, Publishers Clearing House gives “hundreds of prizes of $1,000 … to lucky entrants in each of 210 TV viewing areas across the country.”

Cash prizes of $10,000 are presented “nearly every month.”

SuperPrizes, worth between $1 million and $10 million each, are presented at least one time a year.

Publishers Clearing House has given out $223 million since the sweepstakes began in 1967, it states.

Q: We’re big Fox News fans and were wondering about what happened to Ed Henry, who covered the White House.

—Norma Scharff, Lawrenceville

A: Henry returned to Fox News late last month as its chief national correspondent after a four-month absence from the network.

He was removed from covering Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in May after In Touch Weekly reported he had an extramarital affair.

Jennifer Griffin replaced Henry on Clinton coverage.
