Gwinnett firefighters on Monday found a SUV crashed into a house near Lawrenceville with its driver seriously injured nearby.
How it happened is still something of a mystery — at least in the fire department report. The SUV went in reverse down the driveway from a house across Clairidge Lane, dragging its driver until the vehicle jumped a curb and tossed him loose, said Capt. Tommy Rutledge.
The SUV then crossed a yard, ripped siding off the house across the street and crashed through a back corner, Rutledge said.
The driver of the runaway vehicle was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Rutledge said. The man’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Nobody was home in the house. The scene was turned over to Gwinnett County police, Rutledge said.
