The former Carolina Panthers cornerback, with his nonprofit Tyrone Poole 38 Foundation, will host the turkey giveaway from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday in LaGrange. The foundation has hosted the giveaway for the last three years, according to a report by the LaGrange News.

“This is a chance for a family to go to bed with a full stomach that they may not have had in a while beforehand,” Poole said. “I grew up in this area off of Hamilton Road, so it is important to me that I give back to the community.”

Poole spent his formative years in Georgia, attending and playing football for Fort Valley State University in the early 1990s.

Tyrone Poole was a four-year starter at Fort Valley State College from 1991 to 1994.
