“Stranger Things” is back with a chilling trailer that was released on Valentine’s Day.
Netflix gave fans a sneak peek of the fourth season, leading with footage of Jim Hopper, played by David Harbour, trudging through a snow-filled, desolate area. The clip is captioned with “From Russia with love.” The clip also shows several unknown characters laboring over a train track in the snow. Hopper is one of the crew but seems winded by the cold-weather work.
The biggest surprise to fans is that Hopper is still standing after what he endured at the close of Season 3.
Here’s the 1-minute clip from the teaser:
“Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer shared a bit more about the teaser than what the few seconds could reveal with Variety magazine.
“We’re excited to officially confirm that production on ‘Stranger Things 4’ is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper,” the duo said in a statement. “Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.”
The American science fiction television series was released in 2016, starring a variety of budding and longtime screen stars including Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin and, most recently, Sean Astin and Paul Reiser. Many of the seasons have been shot in the metro Atlanta area. This season was shot primarily in Eastern Europe.
