Forty stolen vehicles valued at more than $1.4 million have been found this year at the Port of Savannah, news outlet WTOC reported, citing U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Since January, officers have found vehicles destined for countries including Ghana, Iraq, Libya and Jordan, according to WTOC.

The stolen autos included sedans, SUVs, a pickup truck and a 2019 Rolls-Royce, the news outlet reported.

Some of the vehicles were obtained from dealerships using fraudulent identities and stolen credit cards, according to Customs and Border Protection officials, while others were taken via fraud from rental car companies, WTOC said.

The recovered vehicles came from Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Mississippi, Iowa, Missouri, New Hampshire and New Jersey, the TV station reported.

The victims in several cases did not know a crime was occurring until they were contacted by officers, WTOC reported.
