State patrol arrests man in Savannah who faces Cobb murder charge

Cobb police have arrested a man on charges of killing a woman Tuesday in an apartment complex near Austell.

Officers found Kendra Walker, 24, wounded from multiple bullets at the Lakeview Crossing Apartments at just after 2 a.m. Tuesday when investigating reports of gunshots, Officer Alicia Chilton said. Walker died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Around 9 p.m. that night, Georgia State Patrol officers arrested 47-year-old George Lewis in Savannah after a short chase as a suspect in the case, Chilton said. Lewis is in jail in the coastal city on murder and other charges until he can be brought back to Cobb County, she said.
