Longer, more productive days with lots of activity from both the House and Senate under the Gold Dome as crossover day nears.

Here are 4 things that happened at the Georgia Capitol today that you should know:

1. Prisoners who use cell phones to conduct gang activity would face a minimum 5 year sentence after the House voted to stiffen penalties to combat organized crime. ["The safest place for a gang to conduct its activity is inside our Georgia prisons."]

2. Cameras may soon be allowed in special education classes as part of a statewide pilot program. [But the footage captured would only be available to school administrators.]

3. Fireworks sales would be used to help fund trauma care in Georgia, according to two measures passed by the Senate. [But will you be paying more for fireworks then?]

4. Insurance agents who sell group health policies would be guaranteed a minimum 5 percent commission under legislation the House. ["We're creating a floor," said the bill's author.]
