A man on a skateboard trying to beat a train in Decatur was struck and killed about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Decatur police Sgt. Jennifer S. Ross told Channel 2 Action News the 29-year-old man on a skateboard was crossing the railroad tracks at East Trinity Place and East College Avenue when struck. Witnesses reported the railroad crossing arms were down at the time.
