Episode 9 in the big screen’s “Star Wars” series is coming to Disney+ on May 4, two months sooner than originally planned.

"Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" will begin streaming on Disney+ next week, according to Tech Radar.

Disney posted its latest subscription update earlier this month for the streaming service, revealing that Disney Plus now boasts more than 50 million subscribers, up nearly 22 million since its last update two months ago.

For the first time, viewers will be able to stream all nine Skywalker saga films on May 4, which is also unofficially known as “Star Wars Day.”

The date was chosen for the pun on the catchphrase “May the Force be with you” as “May the Fourth be with you.”

Five months after its launch, the company is inching close to its five-year goal. Disney Plus aimed originally to reach between 60 million and 90 million users in 2024.

By comparison, rival online television streaming service Netflix has 167 million global subscribers. Netflix has been around for more than a decade.

Disney Plus launched into the UK, Italy, India, Germany Spain, Switzerland and Austria for the first time last month, drawing new international fans.

Experts also theorize that social distancing rules are boosting video streaming services including Disney Plus as more and more viewers around the globe remain in lockdown at home.
