Report: Wrong-way driver killed on I-20 in Newton County

A motorist who authorities said was driving the wrong way on I-20 east of Atlanta Tuesday night was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck in Newton County.
Channel 2 Action News reported that a driver made a U-turn on I-20 eastbound near Salem Road before 10 p.m., then crashed into eight other vehicles.
That driver was killed, and three people in other vehicles were injured. Their conditions were not immediately available.
The name of the motorist killed has not been released.
The crash is being investigated by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
