When he was stopped for allegedly speeding in Cobb County, an Atlanta man told the officer he was a City of Atlanta police officer, according to authorities.
“Accused further stated he worked out of Zone 5,” an arrest warrant states.
Zachary Lee Robinson allegedly told the Powder Springs officer he didn’t have his badge with him when he was stopped late Sunday night on C.H. James Parkway, according to police. Robinson was driving a white Nissan Altima with a Colorado tag when he was pulled over, the warrant states.
But Robinson wasn’t an Atlanta police officer, an APD sergeant told the Powder Springs officer.
On Thursday, Robinson was arrested at his Piedmont Avenue apartment and charged with impersonating an officer, a felony, Cobb County jail records showed. He was released early Friday after posting $7,500 bond, according to booking records.
Robinson’s mug shot was not available late Friday.
