Charges are expected to be filed in a three-vehicle crash that killed a 63-year-old Cobb County, police said Wednesday.
Bruce Bailey, of Marietta, died Wednesday morning from injuries sustained in the Monday afternoon crash on Windy Hill Road near the Callaway Road bridge, Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb police said.
Investigators believe Darrin Chatmon, 21, of Marietta, was driving westbound on Windy Hill Road in a Honda Prelude when he crossed the concrete median and hit an eastbound Honda Civic, driven by Chance Chandler, 33, of Powder Springs. The impact caused the Prelude to then hit a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck head-on, Pierce said.
Chatmon, Chandler and Bailey, who was driving the truck, were all taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, according to police. Bailey later died from his injuries. The conditions of Chatmon and Chandler were not released.
Investigators expect to file charges in this fatality crash, Pierce said. Anyone with information about the wreck is asked to call 770-499-3987.
