990726-07/26/99-JOHN SPINK/staff-ATLANTA/FULTON COUNTY- HOLE-EE WORK CONTINUES- A sink hole that developed at John Wesley Dobbs Ave. and Fort St. just below the I-85/I-75 Connector after a sub contractor using a boring technique struck a water main last Friday night causing a huge crater of a hole and buckled the street in a ripple effect toward the interstate, was still there Monday morning. City water, State DOT and several other agencies were on hand Monday morning to continue their strategy of restoring water to customers in the area and re -opening the intersection. A nearby school and apartments are a concern as officials try and determine whether the 10 inch or 20 inch water main was struck.
