A bear jumped into a family's pool in Los Angeles County last weekend as scorching temperatures fell over southern California.

Marilyn Di Filippo posted a video of the bear, which appears to have a red tag on its ear, to Facebook after spotting it on June 19. In the video, the bear wrestles with a purple pool noodle as it floats.

Shannon Lievense spotted the bear after noticing footprints while visiting her family for Father's Day, KABC reported. She watched as it ran from around a corner and jumped into the water.

"He continued to play around for about 20 minutes," she told the news station. "We watched him play with different rafts and my baby's pool toys."

Three heat records were broken on June 19 in the Los Angeles area as triple digit temperatures fell over the region, according to the National Weather Service. The heat was high enough for officials to issue a Flex Alert for southern California. The alert urges residents to keep their thermostats set to 78 degrees in an effort to stymie demands on the power grid during high temperatures.
